What is AEGEE?

Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants de l'europe, the European Students ' Forum, was founded in 1985 in Paris. As a politically independent, non-governmental and non-profit association, AEGEE is open for all young people from all disciplines to become members. It is the largest interdisciplinary student organisation in Europe, bringing together 13,000 students from 161 cities and 40 countries.

AEGEE strives towards a democratic, diverse and borderless Europe, which is socially, economically and politically coherent and values the contribution of young people to society.

AEGEE has its headquarters in Brussels, where a board of directors composed of six to seven people are working in the parent organisation AEGEE-Europe. Commissions in cooperation with the Board of Directors perform tasks related to the management and development of the organisation. Working groups with international membership are active in the focus areas. Separate working groups are also set up to carry out projects at the European level. All members will be able to join thematic groupings where discussions in the international environment on topical issues in society are held.
